Introducing the Emotion and Behavior Lab

I will be joining the Social Area of the University of Virginia Department of Psychology in Fall 2019 as an Assistant Professor. I am thrilled to be launching the Emotion and Behavior (EB) Lab, which will study how people’s behavior shapes and is shaped by their social interactions. I chose the name “EB Lab” to emphasize the dynamic nature of nonverbal communication—the continuous ebb and flow of behavior that coordinates interactions among people. The concentric circles in the lab logo resemble sound waves (one of the channels of communication we study is the voice) and represent the importance of studying behavior at multiple levels (from what’s going on inside someone’s head all the way to the collective behavior of groups).

The EB will be recruiting motivated undergraduates to work as research assistants starting Fall 2019. Click here to learn more.

In the meantime, I’d love to hear from you! Send me an email: adrienne (dot) r (dot) wood (at) dartmouth (dot) edu.
